RMNCH+A/FP COUNCELLOR

Reproductive, Maternal, New Born, Child and Adolescent Health/ Family Planning aims at improving the meternal and child health and reducing maternal mortality and neonatal mortality. It helps to improve pregnancy planning and spacing and prevent unintended pregnancy. 

    Maternal health includes the health of a women before and during pregnancy at child birth and during post partum period. PMSMA ( Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matriva Abhiyan) has been launched by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This programme aims to provide assured, comprehensive and quality anti natal care, free of cost, universally to all pregnant women (in second and third trimester) on the 9th of every month.

    RMNCH+A councellor gives advised to all pregnant women about the importance of breastfeeding, family planning, taking medication, immunization with injection TT and necessary information not only on the 9th of every month daily at OPD.

    After delivery, RMNCH councellor pays visit to mother and give them advised about the importance and technique of breastfeeding, hand washing and cleanliness, providing essential care to all new borns including provision of warmth, prevention of infection and vaccinate all new borns with birth dose (BCG).

    Methods of contraception like IUCD, Oral Contraceptives, condom and injection are given and health teaching regarding family planning are also given.

    Health Teachings regarding all the necessary information is given to pregnant mother, post natal mother and children daily at OPD.
