AYUSHMAN BHARAT - HEALTH AND WELLNESS CENTRE
The Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centers (AB-HWC) were launched under the Ayushman Bharat Program in a bid to move away from selective health care to a more comprehensive range of services spanning preventive, promotive, curative, rehabilitatives and palliative care for all ages.
The National Health Mission (NHM), the country’s flagship health system strengthening program, particularly for primary and secondary health care envisages “attainment of universal access to equitable, affordable and quality health care which is accountable and responsive to the needs of people”. Investments during the life of the NHM were made to strengthen Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) services and limit the increasing burden of communicable diseases such as Tuberculosis, HIV|AIDS and vector borne diseases.
Defining HWC’s
In February 2018, the Government of India’s announced the creation of 1,50,000 Health and Wellness Centers (HWCs) by transforming existing Sub Center and Primary Health Center as the base pillars of Ayushman Bharat. These centers would deliver Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) bringing health care close to the homes of people covering both maternal and child health services and non-communicable diseases, including free essential drugs and diagnostic services , outreach services, mobile medical unit, camps, home and community-based care.
About Us
Diakkawn Sub Centre was Established in 1961 and the construction of building was completed on 2000.And it was upgraded to Health and wellness center on 2020.
It is a 144.29 sqm,1552.61 sq ft and 0.10 Bigha, concrete building with metal roof, and it was located near New Diakkawn Community Hall, and the population coverage of Diakkawn HWC is 2119, Male-909, Female-1210, Eligible Couple- 169. And the Building was repainted on April 19th 2022.
Under Diakkawn Health and Wellness Centre there are four (4) clinic, which are :
I. Salem Clinic –Population : 3665
II. Khuangpuilam Clinic- Population : 1772
III. College Clinic – Population : 1571
IV. Vengthar Clinic – Population : 2284
